| Bill Jubett played the guitar as a teenager, an avid fan of Bob Dylan, and then got turned on to bluegrass when he was going to college in Virginia. His roommate played the banjo, and Bill knew instantly that he had to have one. There's nothing quite like the sound of a banjo, and it grabbed hold of Bill and hasn't let go. He picked up the fiddle a few years later and proceeded to borrow every old-time fiddle CD in the Milford, NH Library's vast collection. A native of New Hampshire, Bill has played in a few local bands and now makes his home in Rindge with April, where they've spent many a night making music and wondering when the neighbors are going to complain. So far, so good! A few have even stopped in to listen. Bill met April at the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival in Framingham, MA in 2006. They sang a few songs together and were hooked. Within a couple of months, they had joined each other's bands and were spending all their time together. Bill has a crisp, clear voice and sings with that high, lonesome sound. His singing and playing have a strength and drive that comes from deep within, and spreads to everyone around him. | Bill teaches fiddle and banjo, etc. Hear Bill & April as The Birch Benders. |

"His high tenor singing complements the trio very well and blends effectively with April's voice on duets." --- Ted Lehmann Keene, NH |
